About (English)
Ren, the Lotus Rabbit
Raised in a home where Buddhism was always close by, now a nurse standing at the bedside of the dying.
Life is a practice
Even the things that don’t go well are lessons worth learning.
Even suffering is a matter of how you choose to receive it.
That said — it isn’t the same as simply enduring.
Change your perspective, and it’s just a path you’re passing through.
Mind and body are one
Breath, food, sleep, pressure points.
With the wisdom of Eastern medicine, I try to keep mind and body in balance.
From the bedside
Sitting beside so many final moments,
I’ve been taught, again and again, how precious it is to be alive.
End-of-life care, memorial, carrying feelings forward
Toward a life without regret.
What matters most is living with gratitude.
And I hope the last words I leave behind are simply, “thank you.”
Today, too, I want to say it: thank you.
